The Singapore National Youth Orchestra invites young musicians aged 10 to 18 (as at the date of audition) to join us! 

Positions are available in all orchestral sections: strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion.

Talented young pianists aged 10 to 13 (as at the date of audition) who are interested in mastering a second instrument, as well as young violinists who are keen to learn the viola are also welcome to audition.

 

*NEW* Pre-Audition Video Screening

Thank you for your interest in joining the Singapore National Youth Orchestra. Due to the increasingly large number of applicants we receive for our auditions, we are implementing a video screening round for all applicants for all auditions held from March 2024 and beyond. Please refer to our updated Audition Guidelines above for the video screening requirements.

 

Audition Requirements

For Violin & Cello

Violinists and cellists are required to prepare one piece of your choice and the excerpts listed below:

 
 

For Orchestral Instruments (other than Violin & Cello)

1 June 2024 Auditions – with Video Submission 

Thank you for your interest in joining the Singapore National Youth Orchestra. Applications for the SNYO live auditions held on 1 June 2024 have closed.

The next round of SNYO Auditions will be held on 11 December 2024 – do check this page again in September 2024 for further details. You will be required to submit a link to your video in the application form which will be published here. Please ensure that you have read our updated Audition Guidelines on what is required in the video submission.

We seek your understanding that the SNYO is unable to provide feedback regarding all auditions due to the high volume of audition applications that we receive.
